All prospective members will be referred to the GMP Firearms Unit as to their suitability to attend the club.

All prospective Probationary Members must provide photo ID (i.e. Passport, Driving Licence etc.) at their first visit.
All new applicants will normally be directed to the Air Section unless they have previous experience in firearms and wish to join that section. After proving competency, an air section member can apply to join the firearms section if they wish, and will be subject to the probationary period.

All juniors (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times whilst attending the range.
Probationary Members of the firearms sections are legally required to complete a probationary period of at least three months and attend a minimum of 13 visits with 1:1 instruction. When competent they will be considered for Associate Membership and become eligible to apply for a Firearms Licence from the police. Full membership, which includes AGM voting rights, can be granted after 3 years as Associate.
An existing FAC holder must prove competency and serve a probationary period of one month minimum and 5 attendances.
